Challenge: Intel and the Smithsonian partnered to highlight an exhibit through virtual reality. ‘Visitors’ could tour an exhibit in the Smithsonian Museum all from the comfort of their desk. Intel asked us to help speak to VR users and get them to visit the experience.

Approach: The best VR experiences come from tethered headsets, and the best headsets are powered by Intel’s processors. We spoke to VR users, museum directors, curators, and those browsing the market for a VR headset in order to better understand how we could target the audience.

Process: The experience debuted in 2017 at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES). In August 2019 it launched for both the Oculus Rift and HTC Vive headsets. The experience is available for free download through the SAAM site.
