Side Quest Chapter II

Side Quest Part II is a continuation and expansion of the Side Quest Universe as a 2D RPG demo. I am the sole developer on this this project that is currently in development.

Summary: Chapter II begins immediately after the original Side Quest where the Player finds themselves leaving the village they saved. Bernard, the owner of the inn, gifts the Player a torch—an essential item that will keep them safe while ascending the snowy mountain trail ahead. After resuming their journey, the Player’s torch is stolen by a mischievous snow monkey who runs off into the snow. Knowing the torch is the only way to survive in the snow, the Player chases after, following the footsteps the monkey left behind. After a brief chase, the Player loses consciousness in a growing blizzard, passing out as a shadow circles overhead. When they come to, the Player finds themselves in a cave next to a roaring fire where a snowy owl who introduces himself as Verum. Verum the God of Truth and Honor says that it was his twin Sister, Ludo, the Goddess of Mischief, who stole the Player’s torch. The Player soon finds themselves in between the two bickering twins, who have put the Player at the center of their puzzles and games. As the Player navigates through the cave, they realize the only way out is to remedy the issue between the siblings.

This game is still in development but I chose to highlight some of the progress I’ve made. Everything I’ve done has been self-taught and is often a grueling process, filled with moments of pure joy when I figure something out.
