Reborn

Reborn is an interactive fiction game made in collaboration with Rishi Mahesh. We cowrote the original story, created the world, coded the narrative branches in Arcweave, and created art to accompany the story.

Summary: Long ago, the land of Kumanari received its sentence: to become the battleground for a war between the gods.

Fujin, the God of Wind, backs the Shinto Clan. With his blessing, Lord Hattori is on the verge of conquering the Southern territories. However after ruling the Shinto Clan for generations, the old lord now nears death. His three children: Hideki, Akane, and Gyoki, march South to fulfill their father’s dream, to unite all of Kumanari under the flag of the Shinto Empire.

Agni, the God of Fire, favors the Gaur Clan. Bodhisena, the monk-turned-warrior, leads this movement. He has a radical agenda: to completely liberate all people from hierarchy, creating a world of true freedom. His militias are everywhere lurking in the shadows, plotting to destabilize the region and bring true equality.

After decades of war, Mahakala, the God of Time and Destruction, grew frustrated with his siblings’ bickering. He whispered a prophecy through the oracles, claiming that after one hundred years of battle, a leader would emerge to wield the power of the gods and end the war, once and for all.

Both the Shinto and Gaur Clans claim their leader will fulfill the prophecy and the conflict has reached a boiling point.
